Is the past the key to the present? Could the present be considered the key to the future? Is the past worth revisiting? Is it better to ignore the past and charge ahead? Are there advantages to accepting the past and learning from what happened?
Can a vision for the future provide guidance for actions now? How do goals expand our acceptance of the present? Are past and future both prominent in the reality of our present? In what ways? Could there be a present without the past? Could there be a future without the present?
“The past is gone, the future is not yet here, and if we do not go back to ourselves in the present moment, we cannot be in touch with life.” –Thich Nhat Hanh
Is there really even a separation from past to present to future? Are past, present and future really one common moment, as Einstein suggested? Is all of eternity really the NOW! Is there really only now?
Are there things in your past that still bother you? Do you reflect on why they bother you or do you ignore them, deny them, or just accept them without judgement? Could reflection on your emotional feelings about your past, possibly lead to positive actions in the present? Could these actions lead to a better mindset for the future? Do the positive interactions, accomplishments or events of the past still inspire you? Why? Why not? Does a vision of the future motivate you now?
