“I remember that distinctly, as if it just happened!” With what certainty can than statement be made?” It may seem certain to the speaker of those words, who still has a vision of it in mind, but is this vision accurate? Of course, it is normally accepted that such a vision is a personal perception of what occurred. Now, as we are learning that our memory is unstable and malleable, is it possible that such a memory has changed over time? If that is so, how accurate is our memory, at any particular point in time?
When are our memories most accurate? Is it right away or after we have had a chance to organize our thoughts?
