Discipline?

Discipline is the answer!

Is this long-quoted adage true? Is discipline the trait or skill which separates the successful from the unsuccessful?

What exactly is discipline? On its own, does discipline lead to success? Is the appropriate application of discipline the key? Is it being disciplined in a disciplined way? In other words, is it disciplined action towards a goal, that is positive and challenging? Is it self-control?

Is true discipline, about mindset or actions? Is it actually about both? Would it not be difficult to be disciplined without taking action? Does discipline move our mindset toward personal responsibility and growth?

“Talent without discipline is like an octopus on roller skates. There is plenty of movement, but you never know if it’s going to be forward, backwards, or sideways.”–H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Is someone either disciplined or undisciplined? Or do people tend to be disciplined in certain aspects of their lives, but not necessarily in others?

How is discipline developed? Is it an innate characteristic that one carries from birth? Does one learn it from modeling others? Do we learn from trial and error. iIs it taught by failure?

Are you a disciplined person? What does discipline mean to you? How is discipline reflected in your mindset, your actions and your productivity?
