NOW?

Is there any other time frame in which we can live, except now?

Can we live in the past? Do some try? Yes, but is the past still back there? Will it ever be here again?

Can we live in the future? Again, do some try? Yes, but is the future here yet? Will it ever be?

Know that life can only be found in the present moment–Thich Nhat Hanh

If yesterday is gone and tomorrow never arrives, does it behoove us to live today, now, in the present moment? Are we required to accept the status quo, if we live in the present? Or? Can we continue to learn from and build on the past? Can we still plan for the future?

Why is it challenging to live in the now? Are we so frustrated with the present that we do not want to accept the reality of what is? Does the past as we remember it or the future as we envision it, provide a preferable version of how we want life to be?

Is the first step to accept what reality is right now? Can we then act to make changes from that reality?

Are you living in the past, living in the present, or living in future? Why? Do you accept the Now? Do you embrace it? What is the toughest part of acceptance? What would you like to share with those trying to assess their orientation? What would you tell a young person?
