Aging?

THE OPENING YOUR MIND BLOG! QUESTIONS NOT ANSWERS!

What is aging?

Is aging just a part of the life process over which we have no control? Are there societal factors involved? Do personal mindsets affect the aging process? Can we influence aging through the lifestyles we chose and the decisions we make?

Does aging dictate declining health, mental disorientation, loss of function and pain? Are these factors merely a reflection of the aging process?

Do all living organisms age? Do people age at the same rate, when they are 3, as when they are 63?

Why do we often ignore what our actions and mindset do to affect the quality of our aging? Do many people think themselves into old age?

Old age is like everything else. To make a success of it, you’ve got to start young.” —Theodore Roosevelt

Is aging affected by our focus on particular diseases, instead of a broader, more holistic approach that begins early in life?

Would there be positive benefits, if individuals, the medical community, educators, and society began to address aging as a life-long process, rather than a late life issue? How will this happen?

Even though we cannot control aging, is it true we do influence how we age, by what we think, what we do and even what we say?

How do you view yourself getting older? Is it something to just accept? Is it a process that deserves attention through-out life? Do you have positive outlook on your aging process? How are you “getting better with age”?

What advice would you give to your younger self about “growing old”? Please share your perspective!
