Do we read less now than prior generations did? Do we read differently now? Is it possible that we actually read more now?
Is the joy of reading still alive? Is it still embraced by the young? Can we still lose ourselves in a different world through the words of a book?

Is there a change in how we receive the words we read? Instead of books and magazines and newspapers do we read online? Instead of printed material we hold in our hands do we turn to the “phone” in our hands to read?
Do we want to read “sound bites” instead of absorbing ourselves in literature?
If we read with an open mind, are we overly influenced by the opinions of others, which are so prevalent on social media? Do we read with an open mind to learn and form our own opinions?
