There are a lot of heroes in the world, some real, some fictitious, and some just fake!
How is a hero defined? Do we call some heroes because they are particularly good at performing a skill? Are heroes defined by their personal characteristics? Is it actions that determine a hero?
What qualities are found in heroes? Is courage a primary quality? Are heroes born that way? Do they suddenly blossom in a crisis moment? Do they develop the attributes of leadership and “heroism” over time, then stand-up when needed?
Do we need heroes?
How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes! Maya Angelou
Can we be our own heroes?
Are heroes admired, modeled and counted on to take-on challenges? Do heroes materialize in crisis situations or are they there for the daily grind of life? Who serves best as a hero-the real ones, those found in books or movies, those who proclaim their heroics or everyday people who step-up when needed? Is there some value in all of these types of heroes?
Who are your heroes? What do you expect from these heroes? Who considers you a hero? Do you see yourself as a hero?
Please share, in the comments, the story of your hero. How did this hero influence your life?
