Critics?

Critics: questions without answers, for consideration and reflection?

Are critics always right in their own mind? Are they sometimes actually right on what they critique?

What is a critic? Who is a critic? Do critics have their own agendas?

Can critics be of value?

Are we often our own most intense critic? Do we all have an internal censor?

Are critics sometimes people who have “never been in the arena”?

Can critics present insightful feedback?

Do critics provide a self-esteem check?

Basically, can critics be both helpful and/or damaging? Is the difference the words of the critic or is it the response of the one receiving the criticism? Or what? Do some criticize to diminish the one being criticized, independent of what they are criticizing? Is it a way to bring someone down to their level?

What is your opinion of critics and criticism? What do you learn from criticism? Are you a staunch self-critic? Do you respond defensively to criticism? Do you grow and develop from criticism? Is it a good thing to be criticized?
