respect?

What is Respect?
Is disrespect the norm now? Is it commonplace for people to attack those who disagree with them? Is listening and seeking common ground becoming even rarer?

Aging?

Is aging just a part of the life process over which we have no control? Are there societal factors involved? Do personal mindsets affect the aging process? Can we influence aging through the lifestyles we chose and the decisions we make?

THANKSGIVING?

What does it really mean to give thanks? Are thanksgiving and gratitude synonymous? Are there nuances in the words that separate them in meaning? Can one give thanks without being grateful? Can one be grateful without giving thanks? Are grateful and thankful synonymous?

Valuing People?

What does it mean to value others? Why are some people so important in our life?
Do we value people who add to our life in some way?
Do we value those who value us?

I can do it myself?

“I can do it myselgf” Is this a familiar proclamation for a 2-year-old, trying to demonstrate some newly developing skill. Is it a proclamation that could be repeated 80 years later to demonstrate that the ability to perform a particular ask is still there? In both cases is it really an attempt to prove independence?

Self Censorship?

Self-censorship normally refers to limiting what we say. Would it be valuable to also examine how we censor or filter ourselves in selecting what we read? As what we read is so influential to what we think, how our opinions are formed and the development of our perspectives, what can we do to filter what gets into our mind?

Important?

What is important? What is the definition of important? Does the meaning change over time?

You?

How does one go about the discovery of who they really are? Can this be accomplished through self-reflection? Does it take input from trusted family and friends? Is there an analytical test that will reveal it?

Why?

Is why a question that can go in many directions? Would it be considered a common question, that is asked of oneself, of others, of the universe, and even of God?

Reading?

Is the joy of reading still alive? Is it still embraced by the young? If we read with an open mind, are we overly influenced by the opinions of others, which are so prevalent on social media?
