Questions on the rush to hurry for your reflection?
Hurry! Hurry! Hurry! Does that seem to be the mantra by which we live our lives? Are we seemingly always in a hurry to get things done, to move on to the next project, to reach the next goal?
Why do we feel so compelled to hurry?
Is this pressure to hurry mostly self-induced or is it the result of outside pressure? If it is outside pressure, what can be done to control that external influence?
Is it the internal ones that need our attention? For example, is a lack of priority organization a factor? Is the inability to say no a cause? Do we fear failure? Is the need to hurry an indication of low self-esteem? Is poor planning or a lack of planning a root cause of the need to hurry? Do we have too much on our plate?
Are these things over which we have some control? Are these factors worthy of reflection and analysis? Can we adjust our mindset to a less frantic approach? Would this also be effective with the outside pressure?
Is this an example of controlling what we can, while accepting that we cannot control everything.
From another perspective is hurrying the most effective way to get things done? Is it an effective way to do things well?
