Open Mind?

What is an open mind? What is a closed mind? Are they mutually exclusive? Are they situational? Could someone be open minded on some things and closed minded on others?

What are the benefits of an open mind? How can an open mind be developed?

What hinders the development of an open mind? Does a lack of confidence interfere with our ability to consider other possibilities? Can our ego interfere with our ability to be openminded?

Is it difficult to accurately describe the meaning of an open mind? Do open minds have filter? Is open mindlessness specific or universal?
